L2P, Your best bet as melee is to deny early and bring their creeps to your tower, that way you get golds and if they come close enough to strike they get a tower owning them.

Too bad that any decent ranged hero will harras your ass even when your close to a tower. And tbh even with normal mode tower damage is quite disappointing. You can easily tank a tower from level 3.
Played dota again and it just feels solid like a rock opposed to HON balance wise.
