Topic: Tumbleweed Meeting

Why !?
Because its about time we raided somewhere IRL~!

So basically we've been playing with the idea of having a IRL meeting and I think its about time we stop playing and get to working out the main points:

Who:

Which people will be attending/hosting the meeting etc etc.

When:

My guess would be mid/late summer-ish or somewhere in Septembery/Octoberish

Where:

Holland seems like the most logical choice since we are superior in every way and we are pretty central for most people to reach that and the fact that Yames, Yavid and Yorge will prolly want to get SMOKED out of their minds and im not importing that shit for them!!!! Another option Would be Sweden or possibly even the UK so let us know what you think will be best.

How:

Well logically not all of us have Mansions so first off we need to find a spot that can Accomodate us all and the secondly do we want to do a LAN or do we just want to do a meeting and some sightseeing/boozing or whatever, thirdly how long do we want to do this a long weekend 2 - 3 days mid-week 3 - 4 days or a full week! tons of possibilities and with the right preparations we could prolly come up with some nifty idea's.


Some Suggestions:

Bungalow rentage like Centre Parcs: Lodging sorted fun and stuff to do in the parks themselves usually nicely located for other things like going out etc etc.

Hiring a Party Hall: Is what we did last time we hosted a LAN it was very close by and pretty affordable aswell had some food and sleeping accomodations and was very spaceous to boot! Cons are we can only do it as a Long Weekend since the building we used is usually used as a Child Daycare tongue

Staying over at people: Somewhat more cozy provided everyone's folks/partners are cool with it only problem is you need to have multiple people that live near eachother or travelling will be a pain, might be doable if there arent too many people coming etc etc.


So we have quite a few options options so voice your opinions and tell us what you want so we can all conclude that holland is superior! VIIIIIIIIIIIIVAAAAAAAAAAA HOLLANDIA!!! /o/ \o/ \o\

End of august is the best time imo since unis start up in september and I dunno when. I'd of course say uk but not rly bothered where.
Not so keen on idea of lan myself and something like a few days centre parc thing sounds good combined withdrink

I am definitely up for this and I reckon Yeorge (Chair) would be too... despite my best efforts he hasn't registered on the forums yet. I also spoke to Maz and I think he said he'd be willing to drive across - or Yeorge could but imagine that............................ driving & ferry would be the cheapest option if it is hosted abroad and a lot of us UK folk attend.

I don't think the UK is a great choice cause those of us that live here are spread out all over the place, although Yeorge and I live very close to each other. It's between Holland and Sweden really. I vote for Holland because I predict if we mapped where we all live, it'd be the most central option to travel to. We can solve the attractive woman problem by getting Yuno to bring some Swedish women with him.

In terms of duration... I'm gonna say a week or as close to is as possible. I can't justify spending the money it's gonna cost to attend if it's only a weekend (plus it'd be shit because we'd wanna spend more time together and become BFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFs but we'd run out of time! It's like when I visited Damey & Breekz and they didn't want me to leave!!!!!!!)

I could enjoy a LAN no worries and Yeorge will need his daily WOW fix one way or another. That said, I really like the idea of the Center Parcs-esque place - do any places like this exist in Holland? Somewhere like that with Internet access could accommodate for everyone's needs (although we wouldn't be able to smoke there I'm guessing, which would suck.)

With regards to the city hall idea: it's affordable and probably best allows for everyone to do what they want (some can LAN, some can sight-see, some can drink). Are there any venues that fit this description in Amsterdam that can be rented for a week?

I can't do the 14th-16th of August and I go back to university late September. Any other dates are fine as long as we get them confirmed way in advance.

Personally I don't wanna spend the entire duration of the meet at a LAN. I would rather do social stuff and go out in the city it's hosted in. Eat, drink and be merry!

Maybe it could work like this:

Morning - Afternoon: do whatever you want (LAN/sight-see/hang out/eat)
Early Evening - Night time: we all go out/do something as a group
Early hours: continue to drink/hang out/LAN

If posts don't make much sense it's cause I no have sleep cause I watch The Wire instead of doing work last night!!! FFS!!!

Sounds good - although it means having to get a job to pay for it... also, my birthday is on 19th of august... would perfer to be home for that. LAN is good, chilling is good and going out is frowned upon unless it's a special occasion... generally anything that doesnt require too much energy or movement is fine with me. Also if it takes place in holland - i'd like to do the touristy things... u know, see some windmills, visit a clog factory, see where the edam's made... i dont go back to uni till early october... so i can do late august/september i guess. Gxxx

Hola everyone,

Jaleney/Aeternia thanks for the invite smile. Would be fun to meet you guys, so I'm certainly interested. Dunno if a WoW subscription is obligatory to this meeting, as I have recently quit playing =P (still a gamer tho). When there is booze, food and good folk I'll be there. Wouldn't mind to house some people if needed. Living at the edge of Amsterdam (Zuidoost) right now in my new apartment. I'll check this thread and see what happens.

and maybe uk is a better idea! less people have to travel (apart from a few hours to wherever)..........center parks.........

Well as James, said, i can taxi a few people, if people want to chip in for fuel + ferry.

If people are flying (cheap flights to amsterdam are like £80return.
If its in the UK and people dont need a lift ill just use my motorbike since its faster tongue.
