Topic: The Argent Tournament

In patch 3.1, a new world event titled “The Argent Tournament” will be coming to Northrend! This tournament will be live on the 3.1 PTR and open for testing, though certain aspects are still in development. Players will find a host of new features here, including:

    * The ability to prove your worth to a capital city of your choosing through our new mounted combat system (still in development)
    * New daily quests to construct the great Argent Crusade coliseum for glorious battles to come
    * All new rewards - new items, titles, banners, tabards, pets, mounts, and more
    * All new achievements
    * Many more festivities, and more to come in future content updates!


Players will find the Argent Tournament in Icecrown. Speaking to any Northrend flight master will get you on track to prove your worth to the Argent Crusade, your faction’s leaders, and all denizens of Azeroth!

Wonder if this will just be a tuned up arena, or actually something fun. "new mounted combat system" sounds interesting though. smile

According to this spell, a new atiesh-like legendary item will be available from the game and will most likely be a mace.

    * 62812 : Forming Val'anyr, Gavel of Ancient Kings -- Combines 40 Fragments of Val'anyr to form the Shattered Fragments of Val'anyr.

like 3 warrior changes vs 500 from other classes. fury warrs nerfed like hell. prot left unchanged except less needed due to sunder armor nerf. prot palas who already had 4k dps on patch get a dps upgrade.
atleast we can join bg's from anywhere and mounts can swim...

tg needed a nerf tbh, was rather crazy damage.
also what exactly needs changing in prot anyway?

tg wasnt crazier than retri palas or hunter damage. just on gimmick fights like thaddius and loatheb where deep wounds gets ridiculous.

prot warrs need to be less dependent on needing every single tanking stat. need to completely change heroic strike mechanic. better stamina scaling to keep up with druids and dk's. and preferably make imp spellreflect reactive so its like a magical shield block. seems theyre trying to fix that by making shield wall a 1min cd 40% damage reduction though with glyph + talents. and tank damage needs to be upped overall, prot paladins got it in this patch atleast so hope it applies to more.

Dual specialization isn't something everyone needs. It's a perk we're adding into the game, and it's initially going to require an investment. If you can't afford dual specializations for 10 different characters, you might not actually need all 10 of your characters to be able to swap between two specializations on a whim.

With a single 5-second, out of combat cast, players level 40 or higher will instantly be able to swap between two different talent specializations, glyph sets, and action bar set-ups from virtually anywhere in the world.

That kind of convenience and versatility shouldn't be obtained with absolute triviality

tg was crazy in pvp, but i spose so are hunters and retridins.  paladins don't have an ms however.

dunno about the warrior tanking stuff, i thought the only real complaint warriors had was about sarth+3drakes, which isn't exactly what the class should be balanced around imo.

it has to with needing to use an ability every 0.5seconds and needing expertise more than any other tank thanks to it. and withstanding huge hits is pretty much the blizz mo for cockblocking. when you check for eligible ta nks you go hey whats your hp. if a druid has 10k more hp than a warrior or paladin then the choice is pretty obvious, even if they have 10% less avoidance, its much easier for healers. this also affects malygos when he gets a spark, the more hp you have the bigger chance of surviving, and goes for all magical attacks on bosses since they cant be mitigated except for short cd shield walls like boneshield, barkskin, and shit, which finally will have shield wall added to it next patch.

Hunters were nerfed in pvp and pve, warriors are getting nerfed in pvp and pve. Paladins plz...........

hunters damage was nerfed slightly yes, but they're still crazy good in pvp

muti rogues are getting nerfed next patch again i think regarding poison lengths and a few other things
dks and palas, yes are far above most other things. if for example you get a hunter into melee with traps and disengage on cd as a dk, he's fucked i think? if you get a dk into any range...........o...........
tg was hardly crazy in pvp because of how squishy fury warriors were

except sv hunters have almost all of the CCs of those classes

if you get into melee range with a hunter and his very short disengage and trap cds are still active, he can always just deterrance, or roar of sacrifice, or intervene, or have his pet charge.  heaven forbid any of these things in conjunction with a wing clip/frost trap already being down allow them to get a scatter shot off.
if you have a dk at range and his DG is on cooldown, theres very little they can do other than slow you and chuck death coils at you.

dks are probably still a little overpowered though yes, but moving gargoyle/changing plague strike should bring them back into line with other things.
